Mercedes Lackey
Biography
Mercedes Lackey is best known for her inventive fantasy novels. She
has several extremely successful series running concurrently,
including her Bardic Voices novels, Valdemar novels, and SERRAted
Edge urban fantasy collaborations. Also highly successful is her
collaboration with Anne McCaffrey, _The Ship Who Searched_. Lackey
lives outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma, with her husband and collaborator,
artist Larry Dixon, their several birds and two dogs. Larry and Misty
are both members of SOAR (Support Our American Raptors), sponsors of
the Sutton Avian Research Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and do
volunteer work rehabilitating birds to live in the wild.
Special note: One has to wonder whether the people who work on the
blurbs for Mercedes Lackey's books have ever actually read them, or
are just guessing. One blurb on this web page is a little wrong, and
the other one has a complete lie in it.
